Journalism student Leonie C. has been investigating why students are using Yondr bags during the last four weeks of school.
Yondr bags are popular but some kids have mixed feelings about them. While many love them, others don’t like them as much, and some kids have
reportedly even cut them open. Some students have different opinions about how Yondr bags should be used.
Benediction Cimalamugu, a student from another school, said, “I feel like it
could be a better way to use the Yondr. I feel like they should let you guys use y’all phones when switching classes and when you guys go to lunch just like my
school does.” This quote shows that there are different ways to manage phone use in schools and some students think there could be improvements.
While Yondr bags are designed to help students focus in class, opinions on their effectiveness and convenience vary. Tano Bade mentioned, “It’s helpful for students to focus in class even though it’s annoying,” Looking ahead, I hope schools explore different strategies to balance the benefits of reduced distractions with the need for occasional phone access. I hope they will find a better way for Yondr pouches.
