For the past few weeks, Aiken Engineering students have been building a roller coaster in groups using paper and tape, then rolling a marble into it to test if it works. Students had many good things to say about the project.
“I think it’s a good project, I had fun doing it,” said Roivis, a 10th grade student from Aiken. Other students agreed: “I had fun because we imagined it as if it were a real roller coaster.” said Carolina Juarez, another 10th grade student from Aiken. Mrs. Wilhelmus, one of the two Engineering teachers at Aiken, said, “I asked the students to divide into teams to design and build marble roller coasters to work on teamwork and collaboration skills.”
For more information, you can ask any Engineering student or Mrs. Wilhelmus and go to her classroom to see these amazing roller coasters.
