Urban Wilderness Program Features Aiken Ag Students
The Video Highlights the Mission of Getting Kids Connected with Nature

December 5, 2022
During the Pandemic the very first in-person, group project we committed to was a canoe build. We thought it safe given our ability to
work outside and at safe social-distances. It was an unmitigated success! Going on 2-years later, our students have constructed 3 canoes, 1
student has gained employment through the Camping and Education Foundation, and 2 students spent the summer on wilderness
adventures. When they had a choice of students and school to feature for a promotional video, the decision was simple…Aiken.
Our mission and vision as a CPS Outside School is a carbon copy of the Urban Wilderness Program’s want to reconnect students with nature through hands-on learning of the hard skills while developing the soft skills of leadership.
